Phew. Ok back to business. Walking dogs in a dog friendly cemetery with my partner Ryan recently, I realized how many beautiful old headstones featuring womens' names simply said "wife." And I'm all "oh - Ryan signs me up for everything as 'doctor.' Who else were they?" So, in the coming days, weeks, months, however long it takes the project to evolve, expect a series of art and light storytelling around the forgotten women in old cemeteries near me. The ones under the tree in the back corner. Who simply say "wife" or are a single name engraved on a stone in 1873 listed in 11 point font under the 190 point font of her husband's full four names of perceived greater gravitas.
